description

The current configuration of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) suite being fielded on FOSOV platforms supports the AN/PRC-163 and AN/PRC-167 hand-held and man-pack tactical radios. These new radios have an operating frequency range from 30 Megahertz (MHz) to 2.6 Gigahertz (GHz). Previous-generation FOSOV radios operate from 30 MHz to 512 MHz with a 50-Watt (W) amplifier. The FOSOV C5ISR suite also supports the AN/PRC-117G radio, which is currently the only radio with Mobile Users Objective System satellite communication capability. The objective of this project is to develop an RF amplifier that is interoperable with all waveforms currently available with the AN/PRC-163, AN/PRC-167, and AN/PRC-117G radios, using only the RF connections of these radios.
