Standard Missile 6 Block IB Second Stage Rocket Motor

The U.S. Navy’s STANDARD Missile (SM) is a surface ship weapon for Anti-Air Warfare and Anti-Surface Warfare on Cruisers and Destroyers across the Fleet. The SM is vertically launched from the weapon system/ship’s Mk 41 Vertical Launch System. The purpose of this project is to develop a solid rocket motor propulsion solution for the family of SMs that can simultaneously provide a revolutionary range increase for the next generation of SM and a flexible energy management approach, while complying with modern safety requirements for fielding of shipboard weapon systems.
